A relaxed club for scale model boaters

Weymouth and Portland Model Boat Club brings together scale model boaters across Dorset. We meet to share skills, compare builds and enjoy the water together.

Newcomers are welcome to ask questions and pick up practical guidance from members who have spent years in the workshop and by the shore.

Members build and maintain a wide spread of boats, from small hull models to larger scale vessels and radio-controlled builds. Much of the enjoyment lies in the patient detail of preparing each boat before it leaves the bench.

Some of the club's favourite hours are spent quietly by the water, watching boats run and talking through what could be refined next. There is always another detail worth noticing, and always someone happy to show it to you.
